Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence. Rescue Diver training prepares you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies.

 How do Our Courses Work?

Our Rescue Diver programs consist of an orientation, two lecture sessions, one pool session, and one day of rescue scenarios, conducted over the course of one week. This course will boost your confidence level and make the subject of accident prevention and management not only fun, but extremely rewarding. 

Pool Session

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond, while increasing confidence and preparedness, all while having fun during this rewarding course.   During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:

  • Self rescue
  • Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
  • Assisting tired divers
  • Emergency management and equipment
  • Rescuing panicked divers
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers
  • Emergency managment and equipment

The majority of divers say this is the most valuable course they have ever taken.

The Rescue Diver course may also inspire you to move onto the presitgious rating of PADI Master Scuba Diver, the highest rating attainable as a recreational scuba diver, or towards the PADI Divermaster Program and become a SCUBA diving Professional.

Additional Course Details:

Prerequisites PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, EFR First Aid & CPR training current within 2 years (or equivilent rating)
Minimum Age 15 years old. (12 years old by Instructor approval and may require a private course surcharge)
Student Provides Basic SCUBA equipment
Required Materials Rescue Diver Crew Pack and Pocket Mask (included in course cost)
Recommend Books Encyclopedia of Recreational SCUBA Diving
Provided Equipment Tanks or air fills if needed
Course Cost $299 includes Lectures, Learning Materials, Pool session, and training scenarios.
Additional Cost Rental Equipment if needed.
